Winter Solstice Celebration
Sunday, 20 December 2025, 10:00-13:00
Release.Rejuvenate.Reflect.
As the Winter Solstice approaches, we prepare to welcome the return of light. The longest night of the year will soon pass, and with it, the gradual lengthening of days begins.
For centuries, this has been a time for quiet reflection and renewal. Yet today, the lead-up to Christmas often brings a whirlwind of activity, leaving us feeling stressed, exhausted, and disconnected.
This Mini Retreat offers a moment of sanctuary amidst the holiday rush. Through the practices of yoga—incorporating asana, meditation, and a sound journey—we will soothe the body, quiet the mind, and shift from a state of ‘doing’ to simply ‘being’.
Join us in this peaceful pause as we close out the year, set meaningful intentions, and ground ourselves before the festive season fully unfolds.
We’ll gather at the beautiful, light-filled Highfield Park Visitor Centre, St Albans, a spacious and serene setting perfect for deep reflection and rejuvenation.
Take this opportunity to slow down, reconnect, and prepare for the new year with clarity and peace.
**Spaces are limited, so do secure yours soon if you feel called to join us.**
What to Expect:
RELEASE
Louise will gently guide you through a mindful yoga practice designed to shift stagnant energy, release tension, and open up the physical body. As you move, she will introduce the symbolism of the winter solstice, helping you reflect on how its themes of release and renewal can be mirrored in your own life.
REJUVENATE
As we slow down, you’ll ease into restorative and yin yoga poses that invite deep relaxation and calm the nervous system. This is a time to pause, breathe, and look inward. You’ll have the space to reflect on the season that’s passed and thoughtfully set intentions for the one ahead.
REFLECT
We’ll complete our retreat with a nourishing candlelit ceremony, a deeply restorative yoga nidra session enhanced by sound therapy, and a closing gathering where we’ll share tea and homemade treats.
This retreat is for everyone—whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced yogi, come just as you are and find your center.
Your Teacher
‘Yoga gives us peace and clarity in order to see the beauty and wonder that is all around us’
Louise Neicho
Having spent the first 20 years of my professional life working in and with Nature I feel a deep connection to the natural world that has promoted numerous benefits in my life. Combining this with a love and appreciation of yoga and mindfulness that spans over two decades has enabled me to share practices that help us connect more deeply with Nature and ourselves. I have completed over 1000hrs of yoga and mindfulness teacher training and in 2023 I received a distinction for my master’s degree in Mindfulness where my thesis focused on the wellbeing benefits of connecting with Nature. I can honestly say that yoga and Nature has saved my life on more than one occasion, and I don’t think I would be the person I am today if it wasn’t for my practice. To bring all of this together is simply a dream come true and I hope you will join me and our like-minded community soon.
